The inaugural ceremony of the 5-day's workshop on Faculty Development Training was organized in the morning of the first day (2nd June, 2024) with the honour of the chief guest, Prof. Dr. Pradeep Vaidya and special guests, Dr. Ram Adhar Yadav (Executive Director, National Ayurveda Research and Training Centre, Kirtipur), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Binod Kumar Singh (Executive Director; Ayurveda Teaching Hospital, Kirtipur), and Prof. Dr. Mandira Shahi with the chairmanship of Campus Chief; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shiv Mangal Prasad. The chief guest, special guests and chairman expressed remarkable speech in the event. The welcome speech was delivered by Dr. Sangita Maharjan; and the programme was conducted by Asst. Prof. Dr. Mithilesh Kumar Sah.
• Day 1: First session on learning domains (Blooms Taxonomy), Miller’s Pyramid, & Principles of adult learning was delivered By Prof. Dr. Mandira Shahi, second session (Overview of TU, IOM, Examination system & E-learning concept, Simulation video) was delivered by Prof. Dr. Pradeep Vaidya, third session (Curriculum development & Integrated teaching learning) was delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shiv Mangal Prasad, fourth session (Task analysis: concept and steps, Group work & presentation) was taken by Prof. Dr. Mandira Shahi.
• Day 2: The first session (Small group discussion) and second session (Role play, community-based, and community-oriented medical education) were delivered by Prof. Dr. Mandira Shahi. Likewise, third session (Communication skills, importance, components and approaches/Practice at IoM and Feedback Skills), fourth session (behavioural Objective: Types, qualities, elements & educational domains; group discussion & presentation), and fifth session (Audio-visual Aids: definition, types preparation technique and principles) were taken by Prof. Dr. JP Agrawal, Prof. Dr. Sangha Ratna Bajracharya and Prof. Dr. Pradeep Vaidya respectively.
• Day 3: The first session (Lesson planning: principles, components & approach, lesson plan: practice & feedback), second session (Practical Examination, OSCE/OSPE & Viva Voice), third session (problem-based learning, Self-Directed Learning), and fourth session (Role & responsibility of teachers & Ethics in Medical Education) were taken by Prof. Dr. Nirju Ranjeet, Prof. Dr. Mandira Shahi, Prof. Dr. Jagdish Prasad Agrawal and Prof. Dr. Pradeep Vaidya, respectively.
• Day 4: The first session (Discuss the evaluation tools and techniques of clinical, lab & field, rating, Likert scale, checklist and concept of microteaching), second session (Educational evaluation, knowledge test types (MCQ, S/Q & L/Q & others), third session (Interactive lecture and demonstration), and fourth session (Counseling & supervision) were delivered by Prof. Dr. Mandira Shahi, Assoc. Prof. Shital Bhandary and Assoc. Prof. Mandira Onta respectively.
• Day 5: The first session, second session, third session and fourth session (Preparation & presentation of Microteaching practice, Microteaching practice & Debriefing and Feedback Session) were jointly conducted by Prof. Dr. Mandira Shahi and Prof. Dr. Pradeep Vaidya.
The closing ceremony of the 5-day’s workshop on Faculty Development Training was organized at the end of the last day (6th June, 2024) with the honour of the chief guest, Prof. Dr. Khadga KC and the special guest, Prof. Dr. Pradeep Vaidya and Prof. Dr. Mandira Shahi with the chairmanship of Campus Chief; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shiv Mangal prasad. The chief guest, special guests and chairman expressed remarkable speech in the event. The welcome speech was delivered by Asst. prof. Dr. Nirmal Bhusal and the programme was conducted by Dr. Sangita Maharjan; and the 5 days’ programme was reviewed by Dr. Bishundayal Prasad Patel.
