BAMS, the short name for Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery course, is an undergraduate degree program designed in such a way that it makes students familiar with the integrated concept of Modern Medical Science and Traditional Medicines, i.e. it is focussed on Ayurveda. The duration of this course is 5.5 years including Internships. A Worldwide forum has been provided by the World Health Organisation (WHO) for promoting traditional medicine systems such as Ayurveda. BAMS is one of the most popular courses in the field of medical science apart from the MBBS.

The Bams Program enables the learners to be competent,capable to prividing ayurveda health services in Nepal,Identifying and managing health institutions.

Course Of Study

The curriculam is divided into the Professionals of 18 months each.the students have to pass in all the subjects before being promoted to the next professional. To be able to take the Professinal examinations, one must pass the internal assessment.

Student who have passed in all the first professional examination will be admitted into second professinal and the students who passes in all the second professional examinations will be permitted to appear in the Third Professional.

Evaluation: THe final examination takes place at the end of the each Professionals covering both theory and practical .
